Originally founded by a group of volunteers committed to making a difference in their community, hospice provides a specialized program of care and services for end-of-life. Volunteers continue to play an essential role in hospice care and make vital contributions to patients and families. MJHS Hospice provides care for pediatric and adult patients in homes, nursing homes, assisted living communities, inpatient facilities and hospitals. MJHS Hospice Volunteer opportunities include: • Providing support and companionship to patients and their families • Participating in leisure activities such as reading, listening to music, playing games with patients, etc. • Supporting or organizing group activities for patients • Listening compassionately to patients and their families • Providing office or clerical support for our hospice team • Complementary therapies
