We are looking for individuals to join our organization’s board of directors. The Board will support the work of Westchester Square Art Center (W2AC) and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by W2AC’s executive director (CEO), the Board-CEO relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. Specific Board Member responsibilities include:

Serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO as he develops and implements W2AC’s strategic plan
Reviewing program impact and measuring its performance and effectiveness
Approving W2AC’s annual budget
Contributing to an annual performance evaluation of the CEO
Assisting the CEO and board chair in identifying and recruiting other board members
Representing W2AC to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization
Ensuring W2AC’s commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the communities it serves
W2AC board members will consider W2AC’s mission a priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority
W2AC expects to have 100 percent of Board Members make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capability
This is ideal for an individual that has a sincere and dedicated interest in helping a small non-profit art organization grow. If you are interested, please email your resume and a brief cover letter to w2acorg@gmail.com or call (718) 684-4589 to schedule an interview.
